Conceit and Manufacturing False Controversies

Trump:  “Part of the beauty of me is that I am very rich.”

“I look very much forward to showing my financials, because they are huge.”

“… of course, it’s very hard for them to attack me on looks, because I’m so good looking.”

Trump knowingly lied when he called President Barack Obama "the founder of ISIS."  Trump also supported the conspiracy theory that President Obama was born in Kenya, before finally admitting in 2016 that the irresponsible and racist allegation was false.

The Bible:  1 Timothy 6:4-6 New International Version (NIV)

4 they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions

5 and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

False Accusations

Trump"[W]hen the World Trade Center came tumbling down ... I watched in Jersey City ... where thousands and thousands of people were cheering."  The claim, falsely attacking Muslims, has been thoroughly debunked.

The Bible:  Psalm 35:19-21New International Version (NIV)

19 Do not let those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; do not let those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.

20 They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.

21 They sneer at me and say, “Aha! Aha!  With our own eyes we have seen it.”

Contempt for the Justice System and the Media

Trump:  "I’ve been treated very unfairly by this judge. Now, this judge is of Mexican heritage." –Accusing, without evidence, a federal judge (an American citizen born in Indiana) of bias.  The judge presided over the fraud case against Trump University.  The judge later approved a settlement of the class action case in which Trump University agreed to pay $25 million.

"By the way, if [Hillary Clinton] gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks.  Although the Second Amendment people -- maybe there is, I don't know," alluding to the idea that gun control opponents might assassinate Clinton or Supreme Court justices.

Fortune, Oct. 25, 2016:
Trump’s "distaste for media is also clear in the volume of insults he has hurled at the New York Times, Fox News, and the Associated Press, as well as Fortune."

The Bible:
Amos 5:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 There are those who hate the one who upholds justice in court and detest the one who tells the truth.
